What is Malware and Spyware

Spyware can be installed on your machine without your approval; spyware code monitors or controls your machine usage. Your operating system may offer free code “patches” to close holes in the system that spyware could exploit. So it tends to be when "ware" is short for "software"; sometimes it's pretty hard to define exactly what category of code it includes and what these programs do.

Browser hijack software is code that hijacks browsers. By free software like screensavers or P2P file sharing programs which you download, such as Kazaa. Worse, no one example of software will protect you from the above.

Some companies add adware to their software usually freeware and shareware to pay for planning costs. Spyware is a type of software that collects information from your computer and sends it to a ordinal party without your knowing or permission. For many years now, marketing companies have been taking advantage of us by composition programs and sneaking them into software downloads without our permission so they can force us to analyze there advertisements for products.

Similar to spyware, malware can be installed to your machine by deceptive means but it usually gets installed by the user. Generally malware will present itself as being the latest and greatest anti-virus (ie: Anti-Virus 2009) or spyware remover in some kind of email or popup. This type of infection generally is quite a bit more serious than your typical spyware infection.

Once installed malware can wreak havoc on an operating systems’ file structures by installing multiple viruses and root kits that can be a pain to remove. There are many products on the market today that will remove these infections but none do it better than Malwarebytes. This is free program with a paid option for real-time protection that keeps the user protected from malware 24/7.
